Mike Muranetz

Mike's home town is Victoria, BC. In 1977 while in high school, he joined the Militia for extra income. Mike joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1981. While serving, he spent a total of 4 years overseas including 3 years in Germany and 6 month tours in Cyprus and Somalia.
The cap badges he wore were the Canadian Scottish Regiment, Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians), Royal Canadian Dragoons, Electrical Mechanical Engineers and Canadian Airborne Regiment. Mike even served a stint with EME Sqn at 4 Wing Cold Lake. He also served with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry for over 6 years in the support role.
Mike proudly finished his long military service in January 2005 as a Sergeant for a total of 28 combined years of service to Queen & country. The letters "C.D." after his name stand for Canadian Forces Decoration which is a medal presented after 12 years of service to Canada. During his military stint, he bought 5 houses, sold 4 houses and completed 3 House Hunting Trips (HHT) with his final move by IRP in March 2006.
Upon retirement from the CF, Mike decided to take up a new career in Real Estate where he could help other families with their homes.
When not working, he likes to keep busy with working out in the gym, hunting in the fall, and tinkering with computers & Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) as VE6MM & VE6HMG. Beside the Children's Miracle Network, he continues to give back into the community by donating over 80 whole blood units with Canadian Blood Services. Mike has been married to Susan since 1982 and they have three children; Kevin, Jennifer and Kathryn
