Ken Caldwell

If you have come this far in my website, then I have to assume that you want to know a little more about who Ken Caldwell is. I would have to describe myself first as a family man. My wife Angela and I have been together over 30 years, and have three wonderful children Fraser, Alison and Colin. A few of you may have met Colin at my open houses, as he often helps(works) as my greeter at the door. Our home is shared with our dog Bailey and African Grey parrot Conrad. This is an important point for my real estate future, as I would like to be known as a pet friendly agent. Over the years I have had numerous dogs, a cat, horse, and over 50 parrots. At one point we were breeding African Grey parrots, Macaws and Cockatoos. I served for several years as the president of Canada’s largest parrot club the “Golden Parrot Club”. I also ran a successful business of importing bird supplies and manufacturing bird toys for the pet industry. So when you tell me your pet is important to your decision on a home, I totally understand.
For the last 31 years I have worked at Stelco, I have now retired to my new exciting career as a real estate agent. During my years at Stelco, I wrote a hardcover book for Local 1005 of the United Steelworkers of America called “It Started With a Whisper” a tribute to the men and women who defined the union with their heroic strike in 1946. I was also quite active in the Local helping out my fellow workers as health and safety rep, steward and asst. chief steward.
To me the decision to get into real estate was for a fresh beginning, and to bring some job satisfaction that had been lacking during the last number of years. It is an amazing feeling when people put their trust in you to help them buy or sell the biggest investment of their lives. I have always liked helping people, always a hard worker with many great ideas. It is nice to find a profession where I can put all these attributes together….Ken
