After graduating from the University of Ottawa with a BSc in Recreation and Environmental Sciences in 1977, I directed Camp Keewaytan - a camp for youth with learning and behavioual disorders located near Dunnville, Ontario. In 1980, I became Director for YMCA Camp Wanakita and Wanakita Outdoor Centre - a summer camp and year round out education centre in Haliburton, ON. During my tenure with Wanakita I chaired the National YMCA Camping Task Group with 18 Y camps across the country. 1986, I became Manager/Director for the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation's provincial camp known as the Ontario Camp Leadership Centre which later was renamed to Bark Lake Leadership Centre. During his time I was also the Camping and Outdoor Education Consultant for the province working with not for profit tourism and recreation based operations and programs and a number of provincial outdoor based organizations such as the Ontario Camps Association, Hike Ontario, Ontario Recreational Canoe Association, Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario etc. In 1996 I moved to Camp Tawingo for a year and then became Executive Director for Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre in Midland Ontario. In 2001, I decided to move into the private sector and became a licensed realtor. Since then, I have assisted clients, not only in Ontario but world wide, with purchasing or selling their camps, resorts, campgrounds, B&B's, large & small recreational properties, fine homes or tourism business.
