The complementary strengths of this husband and wife real estate team consistently provide results above and beyond their clients’ expectations. For this powerful pair, exceeding expectations is a key goal. Ingrid and Dave’s objective for the clients they serve is to make each transaction “The Best Move You Will Ever Make.”

RE/MAX Hall of Fame, Platinum Award and 100% Club recipients, the achievements of this team are built on a continuing drive to succeed. After growing up in the Bloor West Village, Ingrid studied music in Europe, attended business courses at Ryerson, and also earned an Early Childhood Education diploma. This determined entrepreneur started three separate businesses: an interior decorating service, a toy store, and later the Village Nursery day care centers in three locations.

With success came an interest in investing in real estate, and it was at this point that Ingrid realized she would enjoy helping other people with buying and selling properties. She obtained her real estate license in 1987, and her background has contributed to her success: running the day care centers developed her business, selling and negotiating skills as well as accountability for results.

Growing up in north Toronto, Dave earned his BASc and MASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, became a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), and spent 20 years in the packaged foods industry in technical management, followed by five years in consulting. Dave continues to be a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

While working as an engineering consultant, Dave began helping Ingrid part-time. It quickly became evident that Ingrid and Dave could be very successful as a real estate team, and he finally decided to become a full-time agent. In 1988, Dave earned his license, joined RE/MAX West, and is now an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR).

Dave and Ingrid have found that there are great advantages to working as a team: there’s always a sounding board for ideas and plans and most importantly, there’s always one of them available to respond to clients’ needs.

Dave and Ingrid work with both sellers and buyers of all types of residential properties, primarily in west Toronto and Etobicoke. They also work with the builders, locating suitable properties for development or renovation.

This award-winning team has a comprehensive and effective marketing program that sets them apart from other agents. “We mount a proactive and energetic campaign when we sell a home”, says Ingrid. “We don’t just put a sign on the lawn, cross our fingers and hope for the best.” Before the home goes on the market, they offer advice and suggestions as to how to make it more appealing to buyers by creating atmosphere and the illusion of space, improving traffic flow, and de-cluttering. They also have access to a network of professional services such as home inspectors, home organizers, renovators, handymen, mortgage specialists, and various trades people. Our real estate team also includes a full-time licensed Buyer Agent as well as a full-time administrative assistant.

Once the home hits the market, Ingrid and Dave work hard to maximize exposure to potential buyers through every possible medium. Floor plans and professional photographs, along with detailed information about the home, are made available through the MLS system, through a variety of Internet sites including their own website, through full colour brochures in the home, and through consistent advertising in the local newspapers. Their proactive approach also includes telephone contact with other agents, calling clients in their database, and calling neighbourhood residents to see if they have friends or family who might be interested. “We cover every base,” says Dave, “to ensure that our listings are exposed to the market in every possible way.” Throughout the selling process, they are in regular contact with the seller to keep them up-to-date with buyers’ responses as well as changes in the market.
