I was born and raised in Chandler Arizona and attended school under the name of Carolyn Northern.
I began my career in 1964 with Motorola, after many miscellaneous attempts to find what I might be good at, this was my destiny. In 1975 Motorola moved its memory division to Austin Texas where I moved with my 5 children. I spent 3 ½ years in Austin Texas and had the best time of my life, but then I decided that to further my career I needed to move on, so I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and worked for NCR. Colorado was far too cold for me, so in 1979 I was offered a job with Intel Corporation in Hillsboro Oregon. So I packed up my bags and my kids and moved on. Where I spent 21 wonderful years of my life.
In 2011 my husband passed away here in Los Barriles, now I live alone here and feel very safe. So when people ask about all the crime in Mexico, my only answer is here in Los Barriles it is almost non-existent and I live in Paradise!
I met my husband in Oregon in 1999, where he had a large RV business "Wheeler's Campers & Cars", but his dream was blue water and palm trees, so we both sold everything and again we packed our bags and moved to the beautiful Baja, BCS, where I currently live. We chose Los Barriles, BCS after we came for a visit and fell in love with it. No mistakes here, we have been here since 2000 and haven’t looked back.
After a few years and seeing so many signs on the fences that said “For Sale by Owner” by the locals who had no way for them to advertise. At the age of 68, I thought I could probably help them out, since I had such a technical background, so “Baja Waterfront Property” was born which is a home based company, so for me it is "Otra Vez"
Los Barriles Real Estate
along with Eastcape Real Estate here in the baja have remained stable.
To help the community I designed and maintain websites for the local humane society “Animal Lovers of Mexico” www.almacares.com and the Art Association that helps keep the schools in supplies and helps the community in many ways. www.eastcapearts.com.
My hobbies are genealogy, which I have traced my family back to the 1600’s, with many trips to the natitional archives in Washington, DC. Visits to the archives in Tennesee, Texas and Arkansas. Now it is fishing in the Sea of Cortez, I help organize the fishing tournament for A.L.M.A. humanitaria which is held in October of each year, I belong to an all womens fishing team and of course our team name is "The Los Barriles Hookers" in 2009 we won first place which gave us an entry into the 2010 "Eastcape Bisbee's offshore tournament".
Los Barriles is a paradise for windsurfers, windkite's and fishermen. Sitting at the palapa bar in the afternoon you see a diversified group of each, the eastcape is truly paradise.
