A graduate of Loyola College as a business major, I entered the corporate world as a Human Relations Assistant for McCormick and Company, headquartered in Baltimore MD. From this assignment, I progressed to higher levels of responsibility in HR, working both at the corporate and manufacturing levels. In 1986, I moved to California taking on the role of Employee Relations Manager in McCormick’s onion and garlic company, Gilroy Foods. Returning to the East coast, I continued my career in HR, working for several years with Proctor and Gamble, and later again with McCormick and Company, also serving as Vice President of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association.
In 1997, my family and I left the corporate world to purchase and run The Lafayette Inn in Easton PA. This 18 guest room bed and breakfast joined Select Registry in 2000 and enjoyed enviable growth for the nine years we owned the inn. Highlights included hosting ABC’s Town Hall meeting after the President’s State of the Union address, Good Morning America, a number of celebrity guests including Ellen DeGeneres, Lily Tomlin, Jose Carreras, Neil Sedaka, Kenny Loggins and his band, as well as a number of dignitaries and guests of Lafayette College. We were honored with the Entrepreneurial Spirit award from the Twin Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and the trustees of Lafayette College.
Selling our inn in July 2005, we moved to Ocean City, MD where we now help aspiring and veteran innkeepers realize their dreams of getting in, realizing success, and getting out of the innkeeping business. SInce I have visitied and played in Ocean City all my life, I also became a Realtor to help others realize their pleasure of being at the beach, whether it is part time or year round. We now live close to family (2 grandchildren around the corner!), and have the great privaledge of living in a wonderful area.
I earned both my MD and DE real estate licenses, working the markets in Ocean City, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Fenwick , Bethany and the rest of the Delmarva Beach area. I also hold my MD and PA real estate Brokerage licenses for my Bed & Breakfast brokerage business under the Bushnell & Bushnell Services/B&B Team business. I hold my GRI certification as well as E-Pro Certification and I hold the RSPS certification (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist)- very helpful to the Delmarva area! I am a member of the Coastal Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, serve as Treasurer and upcoming President Elect of Women’s Council of Realtors and Sussex County Association of Realtors. My family is a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Ocean City MD.
