I am a Realtor who has a very different focus than most. I strive to help people with disabilities find the perfect home in the Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, and RTP areas of North Carolina. My mission is to be a resource for the "aging in place" & disability community in terms of universal design, accessibility issues, affordability and school issues. Having a young son with special needs and having grown up with a deaf sister, I have expertise where other Realtors may not.
I am fluent in American Sign Language.
Although private residences are not required to be accessible by the Americans with Disabilities Act, it is a necessity for wheelchair users and people with mobility challenges. As our population ages more and more people will appreciate a well designed accessible home. Realtors have an obligation to work with all clients regardless of their abilities. Imagine entering into the biggest financial transaction of your life and your trusted professional does not speak your language. As a Realtor I bring a unique sensitivity to my work. A realtor that understands the client's varying disability challenges can make a HUGE difference in achieving a successful real estate transaction.
Prior to getting into real estate I worked as the Technical Assistance coordinator for a non profit that dealt with building communityand family support. I grew up with a deaf sister and worked in the deaf community in the Boston area. I have lived in Cary for almost 13 yrs and I love this area and all it has to offer.
