Ken Purvis

I was born in Central Kentucky in 1935 and after high school attended the University of Dayton where after graduation I spent the first 20 years of my working career with Chrysler Corp. in the Dayton, OH. plant. During these 20 years I worked with the Financial Dept. and set the budgets and financial statements for the entire division. I was then promoted to the Washington, DC operation for Chrysler which changed my career to Sales and Marketing. l then managed the largest sales operation for the company in the Washington/Baltimore area.

In 1979 I had the opportunity to go home & join the AO Smith Corp. and went into the industrial engineering field and had extensive experience in plant management in their Central Kentucky plant. After I demonstrated my abilities to AO Smith Corp. I was awarded 1 of only 3 positions to start up a new plant in Monterrey, Mexico. The plant met all start-up objectives by the end of the 1st year. I was then transferred to Acuna, Mexico as the General Manager. Under my direction this plant became their #1 volume plant.

In 1998 we retired to Fairfield Glade after a nationwide search for our retirement paradise. Since moving to FFG we made many friends and found many hobbies including construction of 3 homes and assisting dozens of families with the landscaping of their new homes. As we always enjoyed people and friends we decided to use our experience about FFG to help others achieve their dream of living in paradise on the Cumberland Plateau.
