As a native Texan, I came to Austin in 1976 to attend the University of Texas, and loved the area so much, I never left. Since then, major commercial and housing growth has occurred, merging Austin with its surrounding communities of Pflugerville and Round Rock on the north side, Cedar Park and Leander to the west, Hutto to the east, and Buda and Kyle to the south.
