Prior to getting involved real estate, Mr. dela Merced had been a professional manager in ship fleet operations, refrigerated containter truck and trailer fleet operations, transit mixer fleet operations; in plant engineering, maintenance and safety management. The companies that he has worked for in each field were as follows:
1. Delsan Transport Lines Inc. - Domestic shipping of petroleum;
2. Dutch Boy Philippines, Inc. - Paint manufacturing and marketing;
3. Arabian Danish Paint Co. - Paint manufacturing and marketing;
4. Phinma-Himb Concrete Corp. - Ready Mix Concrete and Concrete Prefabrication marketing company;
5. Havi Food Philippines Inc. - Distribution Center of McDonald's Philippines

He is also now concurrently involved in outsourced transportation management using GPS as a tool.
