Personal:

Raised in New Orleans with the exception of a year each in San Francisco area and Ontario Canada. As an adult have lived in Mississippi, Alabama and Kentucky. Married to Dewey English, managing editor of the Mobile Register newspaper. Son Jack is 17 and is a student at Spanish Fort High School.


Community Involvement:
Member of executive committee Spanish Fort Kids' Park. Member building committee Spanish Fort Methodist Church. Member Spanish Fort High School Enrichment Foundation and Spanish Fort High School Booster Club. Member of Daphne Mardi Gras organization. Veteran soccer, football and band mom. Graduate Benjamin Franklin High School, New Orleans, 1976. Attended Baylor University. Graduated from Louisiana Tech University, 1981, with a bachelor's degree in journalism.


Work experience:
Prior to real estate, 15 years in newspaper journalism, reporting and copy editing, along with writing a weekly column for five years in Jackson, Miss. Worked for the Mobile Register for a little more than three years. Two years in public relations for Mississippi Power & Light in Jackson, Miss.
